Fair prices…Fair grading…Friendly people
George Marley, the owner of The Coin Market, LLC was born in Yakima, Washington and graduated from Washington State University. He began collecting coins in the early 1960’s and began running ads in local newspapers buying coins in the early 1970’s. He moved to Lynnwood, Washington in 1977 and became a partner in his first coin shop venture (JD Coin). After selling the shop in 1981, he spent several years traveling the west coast buying coins at shops and coin shows from Bellingham to Southern California. He attended many of the larger coin shows throughout the country and knows and has done business with scores of national dealers.
He opened his second shop (The Coin Vault) in Yakima, Washington in 1985 and sold it in 1989 and went to work for the largest dealer in Spokane, Washington (American Coin & Vault). After moving back to Lynnwood in 2002, he worked for 2 1/2 years for prominent northwest wholesale dealer Gene L Henry. After working for Gene, he opened The Coin Market in early September of 2005. George became a member of the Pacific Northwest Numismatic Association (PNNA) in the 1970’s and became a Life Member in the American Numismatic Association (ANA) in 1988 (LM-4194).
On the 27th of December, 2016 Sarah Hoff returned to work at The Coin Market. She had previously worked at the shop for over 4 1/2 years from November of 2007 until June of 2012 when she moved with her husband and daughter to Florida. She ended up moving back to the Seattle area in 2013 and after a stint with Bank of America, she returned to work here in the shop. Many of our customers missed her when she was gone and are thrilled she’s returned…as are we! If you are a long-time customer of the shop or are new to dealing with us, you’re sure to enjoy working with Sarah.
Working here at The Coin Market is the logical culmination of many years learning and dealing in coins and currency. The goal is simple, provide the local collector a friendly and fair place to buy and sell coins and bullion and currency…and have fun doing it! You’ll be treated with respect and fairness when dealing at The Coin Market. As we state in our advertising: no games, no mis-leading statements…just consistently fair prices with great service!
